Day 1, MBA Orientation

We welcomed 31 new Walton MBA students to campus today for Orientation. Their agenda looked like this:

8:00 - Check in and breakfast

8:20 - Welcome and announcements

8:30 - Icebreaker

10:00 - Break - very important

10:10 - Program overview

10:45 - Image Consulting - Elise Mitchell from Mitchell Communications Group spoke to the new class about their brand. Image consulting is part of the Walton MBA program.

11:45 - Students met with their mentors (from the MBA class that will graduate in May) and had lunch.

1:30 - Technology training and laptop configuration - the Walton Tech Center makes sure that all new MBA students have what they need on their laptops and that everything is working smoothly.

2:20 - Break

2:30 - GA paperwork

3:00 - Career Services overview

4:00 - Dismissed for the day

An overnight experience was scheduled for tonight at Mount Sequoyah. We received some snow last night and we are expecting more later today. Mount Sequoyah is closed, so we have had to cancel this component of Orientation. Tomorrow's team building activities, which were supposed to take place at Mount Sequoyah, will now take place in Willard J. Walker Hall. I'll provide tomorrow's agenda tomorrow.
