Our small business plan team, Tears for Life, had a busy day yesterday. They left Fayetteville at 5:30 a.m. (yes, that is very early) and drove to Cincinnati, Ohio. They arrived and immediately competed in the 5 minute pitch/exhibit competition. Walton's team outperformed Brown, The Ohio State University, Oregon, and 14 others to win 2nd place! Cornell took 1st. Our team assures us that Cornell did a fantastic job.
This team competes again today at 10:00 (in just a few minutes). 5 of these 19 teams will advance to the finals.
One of our full-time MBA students, Scott Roper, recently had a success of his own. Scott will graduate in May and is currently a graduate assistant at Tyson's Consumer Insights Department. This area is responsible for marketing research. His supervisor asked him to design a logo for their department. Scott's logo was approved and adopted and it is now on all of Consumer Insights' reports and documents.
Since I am bragging about our MBA students, I should probably mention that the application deadline for both programs is April 1. For the full-time MBA, April 1 is the early application and the final deadline is September 15th. This program starts in January and is 16 months long. The part-time MBA (MMBA) deadline is April 1 but we will accept applications until all seats are filled. We would like to admit 60 students to this program and 40-42 to the full-time MBA.
Good luck Tears for Life. They will compete again in 30 minutes. I'll let you know how they did.
